Arches National Park, Utah Elopement - Cody & Lacey

Cody and Lacey contacted us after deciding to elope in Utah and we immediately got very excited. We are technically Colorado elopement photographers based on where we live, BUT we LOVE Utah. The beautiful landscapes of Southern Utah are countless and as adventure elopement photographers we are hard pressed to choose a more incredible area for photography! It can be difficult to nail down the right spot within this region because there are so many places that we would add to our "best places to elope in Utah" list. That being said, we couldn't wait to assist Cody and Lacey in planning their Utah elopement, and when they mentioned Arches we were immediately on board.

For those of you who are not familiar with Arches National Park, it is approximately a 5 minute drive North from Moab, Utah, to the entry gate. From there the paved entry road into the park immediately climbs up and through what appears to be an impassable sandstone wall (don't worry, it's really just an optical illusion). Once on top of the mesa the views quickly become even more dramatic as the road meanders through sandstone cliffs and bluffs to several different trailheads which almost always lead to incredible natural arch formations. Most are short walks, some are further off the beaten path. The areas for great photography within the park are prolific to say the least.

Back to planning. Once we dialed in that the plan was Arches the fun really began. Our questions were akin to these: How far from the car do you want to walk/hike? Do you want a private location away from the other tourists that frequent the area? Will we be camping? If so, do we need to procure a backcountry permit? If we are going to be far from the vehicle should the elopement attire be changed into at the ceremony site? Should we pack a charcuterie picnic? Champagne? Will there be attendants? And so on...

The plan was formed, the excitement was palpable, the date approached, we packed the car, and we were off! We really look forward to Utah adventure elopements because they never disappoint and we couldn't wait for this amazing day to start. Southern Utah tends to have more predictable weather than Colorado which makes our Utah elopement packages a little easier to plan than our Colorado elopement packages. We met Cody and Lacey in Moab and made the quick drive into the park. After planning with them we pinpointed the perfect arch for their ceremony and the subsequent couples elopement photography. The day was perfect! We celebrated, they danced, the drinks were poured, the cheese was cut, the dessert was smashed against faces...

Whether you want to elope in Utah, elope in Colorado, or go far beyond the Southwest we would love to be a part of your special day! We are adventure wedding photographers and we haven't been part of a mission that we wouldn't repeat yet. Let us help you plan the adventure of your lifetime.

Cody and Lacey celebrated their day with a beautiful dinner at Under Canvas; a beautiful glamping resort within 10 minutes of Arches National Park. Click here for more details.
