    Colorado Elopement Planning

Once you've considered the time of year and the type of landscape you want for your elopement, we can start putting together a solid plan for eloping in Colorado. Key questions to think about include how far from a road you’d like to be, whether everyone in your party can handle a hike (Grandma might prefer something more accessible!), and if you’d like to 4-wheel to a remote and scenic spot. It's also important to decide how close you’d like to be to your lodging. Once we’ve sorted out these details, we can help you find the perfect location and make planning the rest of your epic Colorado elopement a breeze!

    The Nitty Gritty

Once you've chosen the perfect spot for eloping in Colorado, it’s time to hammer out the details. Do you need the help of other vendors, like florals, cake, or accessories such as tables or chairs? What about food and transportation? Depending on your location, you might need to secure a permit—Rocky Mountain National Park, for example, requires one. Your adventure elopement photographers can help you navigate all of this! Once we’ve discussed your vision, we’ll make sure every detail is in place so your Colorado elopement unfolds exactly as you imagined. Afterall, this day is all about the two of you!

TO BE COMPLETELY YOURSELF

  • Yes, you’ll need to apply for a marriage license at any Colorado County Clerk's office. However, Colorado allows self-solemnizing, so you don’t need an officiant or witnesses to make it legal. Yay!

  • Spring/early Summer are great for lower elevations; lots of water running aka waterfalls! Summer (July–September) is ideal for high-elevation locations due to snowmelt, while fall (late September–early October) offers stunning golden aspens. Winter elopements can be magical but require extra planning for snow and cold.

  • Some national and state parks, including Rocky Mountain National Park and Maroon Bells, require permits for ceremonies and photography. Having done this many times before, we know the ins and outs of this!

  • That is totally up to you! We’re avid hikers, so we are willing to go anywhere you desire. Some spots require only a short walk, while others involve strenuous hikes. We will find the perfect location for you based on your comfort level.

  • We ALWAYS follow Leave No Trace principles by staying on trails, packing out our trash, and respecting wildlife and plant life. We adore and respect the Colorado landscape and do our best to keep it pristine.
