How To Elope in Utah - Laws, Logistics, and Locations

We’ll be honest, when we think “elope” we think Utah. It’s vast, the scenery is incredible, the geology is other-worldly, it’s easy to get away from the crowds, and it just has that adventurous feel to it; especially Southern Utah. Don’t get us wrong, we love it when clients elope in Colorado, but Utah elopement photography is kind of like photography on a different planet, we can’t help but be in love with it.

There is a lot to consider when eloping in Utah, but as always the first consideration should be location. If you want to elope in Utah it could be hard to choose a location simply because of the prolific list of locales to choose from. If you want to get married in your favorite National Park you’ll probably need a permit, but we can go over that later. If you are trying thinking of mountains, we still think eloping in Colorado is a better option…

You are already considering Utah for some reason. We’re guessing that’s because you think it’s pretty. Well, you’re not wrong. A lot of folks have been to destinations like: Arches - https://www.nps.gov/arch/index.htm, Zion - https://www.nps.gov/zion/index.htm, Island in The Sky - https://www.nps.gov/cany/planyourvisit/islandinthesky.htm, and Rainbow Bridge - https://www.nps.gov/rabr/index.htm; however, many lovers want to elope with similar scenery, but away from the crowds. That’s where we come in! This is how it normally goes, hypothetically: You call or email us, we determine what kind of scenery you are looking for, and how long you are willing to travel to get to it; then we brainstorm locations based on your answers, we show you relevant photos and maps of the locations we have in mind, and we choose a location! Finally, we hash out the details (vendors? vehicles? timeline, permits? lodging, etc.) and finalize your customized Utah elopement package.

Or, you already know exactly where you want to do it, and then we skip directly to the details! The couple in the photos below wanted sand dunes, and that is exactly what we delivered!
