Crested Butte, Colorado Elopement - Danny & Nicole
Danny and Nicole wanted a Rocky Mountains elopement during the peak of winter and that is exactly what they got (they were married in the midst of a blizzard)! After meeting in Crested Butte, in mid-February, we drove to the Kebler Pass trailhead, unloaded the snowmobiles from the trailer, and the Colorado adventure elopement had officially started. From the trailhead, our pine-enveloped meadow destination was approximately 8 miles away via snowmobile. We had seen in the forecast that snow was likely so we planned accordingly and attempted to avoid the main storm by heading out early; well, the storm found us anyway. Shortly after gearing up and heading out we were hit by the storm wall. Luckily, we were familiar with the area and were still able to navigate to our intended ceremony site. Visibility became very low, at times less than 30 feet, but we were where we needed to be and well prepared (we had layers, lunch, beers, extra sunglasses, and the vibes were high).
Whether eloping in Colorado or eloping in Utah, your choice of season is going to be extremely important. Danny and Nicole knew they wanted to elope in the Rocky Mountains during the winter, and personally we've never seen a more wintery wedding than this one! The ceremony was like a scene straight out of a snow globe. The snow was everywhere, including all over them at times, and the photography was a dream.
Crested Butte is a lovely, small mountain town about an hour North of Gunnison - Colorado's coldest town, 4 hours drive West-ish from Denver on a nice winter day (much longer if conditions are snowy/icy), and about 3 hours East from the nearest easy-access airport, Montrose. Access isn't easy, but the area is incredible. Looking for the perfect Colorado elopement package for your dream elopement? Visit our pricing page to learn more! Click here to see more of our work.
